I will be gone from Sept 1st to Oct, 8th 2010 and am looking to sublet my place on Checkpoint Charlie for that entire period.
Although it is located absolutely central, right on the border between Kreuzberg, the former west, and Mitte, the former east and has got a subway line 6 stop right across, it is calm and sunny.
The two room apartment (48 sqm) is on the 4th floor (elevator of course), facing south and it will be entirely Yours for the length of Your stay. The overall feeling is very modern (the building was designed by Peter Eisenman) it is fully furnished (washing machine, TV/Cable/DVD/HIFI and a nice bath tub in the bath room. You have acccess to wireless lan, if You bring Your laptop. It is a non-smoking flat.
The area is lively during day time - with an Asian restaurant on the ground floor of the building, one of the best Italian restaurants in Berlin across the street, many galleries around, Potsdamer Platz and the Tiergarten park within a 10 min walking distance and posh shopping street Friedrichstrasse round the corner - but it is calm at night.
It is suitable for 1 - 2 people.
In order to fix a reservation a down payment of 10% is necessary - either personally or via paypal - the rest is due in cash upon arrival.
